Senior Thesis Research with Dr. Steven Small, May 2006 - Present
Designing and implementing a functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) study of the neural processing of temporal, spatial, and actional information in language, with a particular focus in the relationship between time and narrative. This project is being conducted through both the Psychology and English departments at the University of Chicago, and encompasses the brain imaging study as well as research and synthesis of narrative literary theory.

Duties include creating experimental materials for fMRI studies in discourse and language, researching academic literature, processing and analyzing fMRI data in surface and volume spaces, gathering and preparing evidence for theoretical examination of data analysis techniques, and attending regular meetings in which new fMRI projects are discussed.
